Check out the DC Metro Urban Diary (DC MUD) blog which has just posted an update on the closest Wal-Mart to the Bates area — 801 New Jersey Avenue NW, at the corner of New Jersey, 1st & H Streets NW.

“The complex will include about 300 apartments on 280,000 feet along H Street and an 80,000 square-foot store.”

So look forward to the groundbreaking event announcement — followed by construction activity at the site.
