Thanks to P St neighbor John for pointing out this story:
Today’s Washington Post lists the 31 lowest-performing schools in DC that “should be turned around or closed.” (That’s “Tier 4,” or worst category.)
Eighth on the list is “Community Academy Public Charter School Amos III – Armstrong Campus (CAPCS).”
Story by Bill Turque, page B2, or here and the list of worst schools is broken out, to here:
How many times did Wesley Harvey, CAPCS representative, tell the group last week that “No that’s Mr. Amos’ Tier 3 school in Northeast.”
Anyone know what’s correct?
The wapo link to failing schools doesn’t appear to work.
Here’s the IFF report:

Click to access IFF_Final_Report.pdf
– page 70 shows CAPCS as tier 4 and falling math/reading proficiency.
The yearly dc charter performance report from 2010-11 shows the school as a tier 3:

For the past couple of years, the electronic sign in their front yard has misspelled “Expectations”
that’s funny! and sad.
