Sample Small Area Plan Support Letters
We are in the critical budget determination stage and it is important that the Mayor and the City Council understand how much we want the city to allocate money for the development of a small area plan for our neighborhood. We have waited for more than 20 years and most recently have been told that the only thing holding up the development of the plan is the lack of funding in the budget. Please consider sending letters, via snail mail and/or e-mail, to the Mayor, the Chairman and the Finance and Budget Committee of the Council.
Attached are three sample letters you can use as you see fit. The e-mail address for the Executive Office of the Mayor is eom@dc.gov. The e-mail addresses of the Councilmembers are their first initials followed by their full last names at dccouncil.us. For example, Council Chairman Kwame Brown can be reached at kbrown@dccouncil.us.
Please spread the word to your neighbors and lets create a firestorm that can’t be ignored.
