In lieu of a post this week (blame the day job), I wanted to spotlight a slew of upcoming events. It’s a great time to be an art fan in the Bates/Truxton neighborhood. Also, by show of comments, would there be an audience for a more thorough run-down of specials/events at neighborhood businesses in this space each week? If so, let me know!
52 O Street has its Open Studio this weekend, showcasing some of the unique and innovative artists who’ve made it their HQ. Check out this virtual Open Studio from NPR, then stop by Saturday or Sunday for the real thing. See you there! (And lookout for some neighborhood favorites to be on premises serving up the grub.)
- Studio 85 is everywhere. Check out their Scoutmob deal, or their press here, here and here. Then check out these events:
- April 14th: MS Walker Celebration at the studio, featuring refreshments and a ‘shopping social.’ 1pm-Close.
- April 19th: Studio 85 hosts a mixer at Lotus Lounge for artists/designers/locals. 7-10pm.
- April 21st: Meet and Greet with Ward 5 Councilmember Candidate Kenyan McDuffie at the studio. 5-7pm.
- April 28th: Social Forum with Studio85 & Glamm Beauty Bar at the studio (Theme: Relationships 101). Wine & refreshments served. Donations welcome.
