Subject: New Action Items-Sunset Liquors and Med Marijuana
Good Day All:
I have two more action items for your consideration:
1. Sunset Liquors, at First Street and Florida Avenue, N.W., has applied for a renewal of its license. I note that there have been some positive comments lately about the improvements made at Sunset but this is our once every three years opportunity to be heard if we still have concerns about the operation of the establishment. A copy of the notice is attached for your perusal.
2. Venture City has applied for a permit to operate a marijuana dispensary at 1334 North Capital Street, N.W. That location is in Hanover and currently outside of our Single Member District (SMD) but, if the rezoning plan as is currently pending is approved, that location will be part of the new SMD that will run roughly from Q Street to New York Avenue. I will try to send the application (if it is not too long to send as an attachment) by separate e-mail message. This matter will likely be on the agenda for tomorrow night’s ANC5C public meeting (a copy of the notice and agenda is attached). Please come to the meeting if you want to be heard or want to hear first hand how the ANC addresses this application.

I attended this evening’s ANC 5C meeting. Commissioner Pickney commented that there did not appear to be much community support for the medical marijuana dispensary at 1334 North Capitol Street NW.
