Five new stores for Union Market, foundation for Hyatt Place

In late October, The JBG Cos. bulldozed the old Mirrors nightclub in NoMa to make way for the 190-room Hyatt Place Hotel. Here we are a month later (to the day, really), and JBG is moving on to the next step — a permit to build the footings and foundations up to ground level for the future 14-story building. Hyatt Place is part of JBG’s multiphase Capitol Square, a 2 million-square-foot mixed-use project featuring office, residential, hotel and retail space.
