Revive Events & Catering Brings Trendy, Festive, Fresh and Affordable Cuisine to Ward 5
The owners of Revive Events & Catering believe trendy and healthy food should be available everywhere in the District. Native Washingtonians and Ward 5 residents, co-owners Charese John, Scott Jacobs and Melvin Hines are making this goal a reality with Revive Events & Catering, their catering and carry-out business located near the corner of Florida Avenue and North Capitol Street NW.
From its small unassuming location, Revive caters a wide-range of events, such as wedding receptions, corporate events, bar mitzvahs and even White House galas. From spring to late fall, the company also offers an on-the-go carry-out option. According to Mr. Jacobs, Chicken with Red Velvet Waffles is the company’s signature dish.
Mr. Jacobs said Revive’s prices are affordable. “We’re comparable to most catering companies or even below from a price standpoint,” he said. Revive offers breakfast and lunch catering options beginning at $5 per person. Food options and prices vary depending on event and season, Mr. Jacobs said. “We’re very flexible with our customers in terms of being able to work with them.”

Mr. Jacobs said catering represents about 80 percent of Revive’s business. In a typical year, he said the company caters 30-50 events. He said about 95 percent of these events are in D.C. “Of that, 40 percent have been with Ward 5,” he said. A majority of these events are social corporate events, Mr. Jacobs said.
