Blinky Wearable Workshop!
@ Fab Lab DC
A fun, four-hour workshop for beginners (no soldering or programming required!) and experienced makers, who are interested in trying out simple ‘soft’ circuits and wearable electronics. Using your unique design + fabric, conductive thread, sewable battery holder, coin cell batteries, and LEDs, we’ll make blinking, wearable creations during this four-hour session. Wear your creation home!
The workshop includes:
Class time (introduction to Inkscape, an open-source graphic design program & fabrication techniques using a laser cutter), one-on-one guidance, machine time, materials and supplies, demos, and a chance to meet other makers.
What to bring:
– Lap top computer with charger and download of Inkscape (or, use one of our desktop computers)
– Optional ~ bring your sketches of shapes, designs
