Okay, this ugly and dated building is not located with the Bates area.
But.
It is close enough, I think, for our attention.
Someone needs to lean on the DC Housing Authority to rethink this strategy? It is like putting lipstick on a pig.

The D.C. Housing Authority on Monday announced it will seek to redevelop its headquarters building at 1133 North Capitol St. NE as mixed-use, to possibly include retail, commercial and residential.
DCHA issued a very brief request for qualifications from “experienced developers with the capacity and broad experience in mixed-use development.” The developer will partner with DCHA in the redevelopment of the three-story, 107,377-square-foot property.
The building, currently assessed by the city at $52.5 million, is located five blocks north of Union Station.
DCHA representatives were not immediately available for comment.
