Good Evening All,

To celebrate the Green Apple Day of Service, the Department of General Services (DGS), the Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council and BuildSmartDC have partnered to host a Green Schools Sustainability Fair at Dunbar High School this Saturday, September 28 from 9:30am-noon.  The event was designed to highlight DC’s landmark efforts around sustainable schools and educate students, parents and the community on how they can reduce energy waste at their schools and homes.

The event will also announce the creation of the DC Green Schools Challenge, helping schools eliminate energy waste and awarding prizes to schools that excel.  Ideal for DC school students, parents, teachers, school leaders, healthy school advocates, and community members. RSVP at: http://dcgreenschoolschallenge.launchrock.com/

A number of engaging exhibits and activities will be held throughout the morning, including:

·         Tours of the newly modernized Dunbar High School

·         Interactive “energy labs”
·         Energy efficiency toolkits
·         Door prizes & free giveaways (frozen yogurt, canvas tote bags and a Capital Bikeshare membership)!

Attached is a flyer to share with your constituents, family, friends and students.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
