Arrest Made in 2013 First Degree Child Sex Abuse

 (Washington, DC) – The Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth Investigations Division have announced that an arrest has been made in connection to a First Degree Child Sex Abuse offense which occurred in the fall of 2013, at Dunbar Senior High School, located at 101 N Street, Northwest.

 On Friday, November 14, 2014, a student at Dunbar Senior High School reported to a Metropolitan Police Department School Resources Officer that he was the victim of a sex abuse offense that occurred in the fall of 2013. The perpetrator of the sex abuse was positively identified as an adult male who was employed at the time of the offense as a member of the faculty/staff at Dunbar Senior High School. The suspect was reported to have since resigned his employment in October of 2014.

 On Friday, November 21, 2014, 34 year-old Charles Allen Young, of Northeast, Washington, DC, was arrested by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force; pursuant to a District of Columbia Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with First Degree Child Sex Abuse.

 The Youth Investigations Division has learned that there are possibly other victims who the defendant either abused or attempted to abuse during his time of employment. Detectives are continuing to identify and interview those persons with the assistance of DC Public Schools. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call Youth Investigations Division, (202) 576-6768, or police at (202) 727-9099.  Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.  Currently there is a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for an assault committed in the District of Columbia.

The investigation is continuing.
