Bates Area Civic Association

On August 25, 2015 at approximately 9:46 PM, in the Unit Block of M St NW, an MPD off duty officer alerted the 5^th District members of a man he observed armed with a hand gun.  MPD officers responded to the aforementioned location to canvass for the suspect. Once on the scene 5^th District officers observed an individual matching the description of the armed suspect in the block.  Once officers attempted to make contact with the suspect he attempted to flee and was stopped by officers without incident. A search of the area where the suspect ran produced a handgun.  Recovered was a black Cugir .380 caliber handgun. The suspect was placed under arrest for Carrying A Pistol Without A License.
