Units received several calls and responded for the sounds of gunshots in the 1300 block of North Capitol St NW. A subject was seen fleeing the scene into the alley between N St and Hanover Place NW. It is unknown if the subject was the suspect firing the shots or fleeing from the gunshots. Units searched the alley for the subject and he could not be located. Shell casings were recovered in front of 1304 North Capitol St NW.

Can you provide any information to the large MPD response at North Capitol NW and Hanover NW to the approximately 10-12 shots fired last night around 11:30 PM? Police were on the scene within seconds of the shooting, and locked down the area for quite some time, but I have not seen any MPD comment on the event. Any information would be appreciated.
