DDOT meeting: Thurs, 7/28, 6:30 pm, at Friendship-Armstrong Public PCS at 1400 First St, NW (1st and P)

Good Morning Friends and Neighbors:

The meeting with the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), to develop solutions for the traffic congestion and parking issues in our neighborhood, is set for a week from today, next Thursday, July 28th, at 6:30 pm. The location will be the Friendship-Armstrong Public Charter School, at 1400 First Street, N.W. (1st and P Streets, NW), not the DDOT offices in Southeast as first announced. It is important that we have a strong turnout. If not, who knows when we will be able to get DDOT’s undivided attention again?

The particular meeting space will depend on how many people we are expecting so please “reply to all” [email to Bradley Thomas at 5E05@anc.dc.gov] and let me know if you will be there.

You do not have to have signed up for our Traffic Safety or Neighborhood Parking Task Forces to attend this meeting. If you have concerns about parking or about traffic issues along our major corridors, North Capitol Street, New York Avenue, New Jersey Avenue, Florida Avenue, First Street, P Street, you are encouraged to come and add your input. The DDOT officials will be there to listen and to act on our recommendations. Please put this on your calendars and let us know if you are coming.

Thank you.

Bradley A. Thomas

  1. Will they be covering what steps they’ve taken to address the upcoming construction on 3rd and along Florida? Looking forward to the meeting, I’ll be there!
