Please come out and support the neighborhood cleanup on Saturday, May 1 . It’ll probably last an hour to an hour and a half and will consist of picking up trash and clearing undesireable stuff. Leave a comment or send an email if you know of a particular area that needs some attention. Otherwise, we’ll be doing regular ol’ trash pick up. And let’s go for a coffee or tea, or brunch after?

We are generally looking at having a regular cleanup on the first Saturday of every month. This takes care of people having advance notice. If you have any other ideas for getting participation up. Let us know!
Bates Area Civic Association 
The 1500 block of 3rd Street NW will look the best, by far, compared to any block in the Bates Area. I have a rake, weedwacker, and some work gloves to back up them words.
The unit block of N St. NW, especially towards NY Ave and the alleys between N ST.- Hanover- and O St., can use some help. We’ll be there to pitch in.

Yesterday I spent a considerable amount of time cleaning not only my front yard and public space but also in picking up trash, sweeping and washing down the sidewalk. I am somewhat sore but will make every attempt to assist, where possible.
My other concern is the eagress that boarders the rear to the 1500 Block of First Street, NW. This area needs special attention. It also serves as a gateway to the 100 Blocks of P and Bates Street, NW, respectively.
Thanks Kathy, we’ll try to focus on the egress too.
