what’s nearby?
Once an isolated industrial area, NoMa is now one of Washington’s newest areas attracting development. NoMa plays a critical role in the long-term economic health of the city because of its strategic location near Union Station, the Washington Convention Center and the central business district. National Public Radio recently announced it will be relocating to NoMa, which is already home to XM Radio and CNN. NoMa officials have also recently confirmed long-term lease deals with Harris Teeter and the U.S. Department of Justice, which joins other federal agencies like the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, both of which are headquartered in NoMa.
