Department of Parks and Recreations was scheduled to provide an update on the renovations at the park during our last Civic Association meeting. The reason the presentation did not take place is because DPR is because a larger community meeting will be scheduled later this month.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide other groups and neighborhood an opportunity to give input in the design of the park that may meet their needs as well. For example, some residents of R ST NW have complaint about the loss of parking space on Sundays due to the Farmer’s Market. A possible solution may be to look at the redesign of the park to accommodate a Farmers Market. This would provide a possible solution to Bloomingdale and Bates Area Civic Association.
I will update you of the date and time of the meeting as soon as I receive the information.
