NCMS needs your help to keep our community cooking !

Dear North Capitol Community – Bates, Eckington, Bloomingdale & Near Neighbors:

The District of Columbia is facing a severe budget crisis & The Main Street Programs will have deep cuts.  NCMS is doing a number of programs to continue providing service & showcase our community as we see large big box retailers enter the city.

Our current Cookbook Project is designed to feature all of our businesses and strengthen the ties between all of our distinct communities – Bates, Bloomingdale & Eckington.  While every recipe submitted will have a little bit of history about the cook or the origin of the dish, the recipes submitted by our businesses will include more information about the owners & their business.  We want recipes from every business, not just the restaurants, coffee shops & take-outs.  We also want recipes from our residents.  When the Cookbook is finished, we plan to have a large book launch party, where we can all bring versions of our recipes.  This will be a great time for us to all connect as a joint community.

Submitting recipes is as easy as 1 – 2 – 3!

1. You can go online to our site: www.ncmsinc.org.

2. You can email your recipe to: NorthCapcookbook@gmail.com

3. You can use the attached form & drop off your recipe to the office – 1703 North Capitol Street NE 20002

The proceeds of this project, and all our projects go to our community – The Clean Team – Storefront Improvement – Marketing our Corridor – Beautification – Ads (Look for us coming up in the DC directory & Destination DC!).

We really hope you will participate & circulate this project to your customers, friends & family.

Our deadline is April 30!!

Best – Lonna
