We had a wonderful turnout from our neighborhood, Bloomingdale, Hanover and through different areas in Ward 5. Of course Chief Cathy Lanier and the Mayor were at hand to help celebrate, as well as the men and women of MPD, US Marshall, Fire Department, and other law enforcement agencies.

10 lucky children and teenagers were given a bicycle compliments of MPD. The bike ride was a hit, as well as the music, food and other events. TD Bank was a wonderful partner as was the 5th District Citizens Advisory Council. It was a great experiencing partnering up with Hanover Civic Association to make this event the great success it was.

Our Metropolitan Community Liaison work diligently to secure the resources we did as did Nicole Johnson from Council Member’s Thomas Office and Carl Thomas, our Mayor’s Liaison. Commissioners Bradley Thomas and Sylvia Pinkney, were preset at every planning meeting and working with us every step of the way.

We also had many volunteers from our neighborhood that came to help out and support. What an amazing thing to see all us come together.
