Giant/O Street Market update

Giant is supposed to close tomorrow for the slated renovations.  I saw the following on the Shaw blog. I think Andrew Huff is a rep for Ward 2’s Jack Evans.

All:

O Street Market has entered into formal agreements with Choice Hotels and Concord Hospitality for the development of the new Cambria Suites hotel, which will feature 182 rooms and a full size restaurant and bar. The project has received initial approval from HUD for construction financing. With the closing of the District TIF financing, the project is on track to start major construction in early November.

For those who don’t know, the project will include a 72,000 SF Giant, restaurants and shops, 400 apartments, 84 affordable units for seniors, and 145 condos.
