A post at the Sociology of Ward 6 blog (yeah, I had never heard of it either…) reports that the UN has declared 2012 the Year of the Cooperative — and provides a map of all of the cooperatives in DC.
Some newer residents may not realize that the Bates area includes a housing cooperative — the Northwest Cooperative at 224 R Street NW.
This cooperative is part of the Potomac Association of Housing Cooperatives.
