Uncle Chip’s is great! I live on the unit block of Bates St. and take the bus down N. Capitol to work every day. Uncle Chip’s is right there and what a pleasant little haven it is along an otherwise uninviting stretch of North Capitol St. She has a few small tables, nice exposed brick interior and free Wi-Fi. Not to mention the smell of amazing baked goods coming from the back. Shanon, the owner, is extremely friendly and has hired at least one nice guy to serve customers(there may be more but I have only seen one so far).
Stop by on your way to the NY Ave. Metro. She is on the West side of N. Capitol, between Bates St. & P St. NW.
I love it!
