Public Hearing on Disposition of Cook and Langston Schools

The District of Columbia Department of General Services (DGS) has determined that the John Mercer Langston School building, at 43 P Street, N.W., and the John F. Cook School Building, at 30 P Street, N.W., are surplus District properties.  Accordingly, DGS will be holding a public hearing on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at 6:30 p.m., at the Community Academy Public Charter School, 1400 First Street, N.W. (enter in the 100 block of P Street).  This is the opportunity our community was denied the first time Cook School was surplused.  Thanks to our collective activism, and the commitment of the current city administration, the city is listening to us this time around.  Please join me, along with Commissioner Sylvia Pinkney, BACA President Geovani Bonilla, Hanover Civic Association Sylvia Matthews and other civic leaders in the Bates and Hanover communties at this vitally important public hearing.

Thank you,

-Bradley A. Thomas, ANC5C01
