Mari’s InShaw post on NW Urban Renewal Area churches in 1957

Truxton Circle/Bates resident and passionate historian Mari has authored a post at her InShaw blog titled “Church Parking and History.” Her post includes a map — Mari loves maps! — of a 1957 survey of churches in the “Northwest Urban Renewal Area” — an area of DC that includes current-day Shaw and current-day Bates/Truxton.

She provides some interesting history — and provides some social commentary on the current-day delicate topic of church parking.

And guess what?

Mari’s InShaw post has been cross-posted over at the vastly popular Greater Greater Washington blog.

So if you are devotee of neighborhood history, then you might wish to check out Mari’s post – either at her InShaw blog or over at GGW.
