More about the Artists:

Lisa Marie Thalhammer is a RYS-200 hour Yoga Alliance certified vinyasa flow instructor and an award winning Washington DC based visual artist. She is most known for striking powerful portrait paintings, collages and murals. With over a decade of experience in cultural art education, Lisa Marie Thalhammer brings a figure painter’s eye for body alignment, enriching themes and curated music to her yoga practices.

Born in Panama, DJ Underdog came to DC at age seven with his mother and set down strong weirdo/subcultural roots in the Nations Capitol. Underdog spins a mix of all genre’s without conformity or genre specific walls which has made his sets appealing to many. Underdog’s sets traverse the globe and delve in futurism on many levels. Bringing “New Aesthetic” style to DC & New York over and over again, Underdogs recent acclaim stems from his UNSEEN mixtape series which has expanded his listening audience and placed him outside of any playlist or genre-defined role. He’s played many festivals like Coachella and Celebrate Brooklyn, and has shared the stage with artists like Femi Kuti, Sango, Melo- X, Common, Black Coffee, Seun Kuti, A Tribe Called Red and Questlove. From Afropunk to almost every major festival in NYC, DJ Underdog is currently holding down residencies with OKAYAFRICA DC, ELECTRAFRIQUE NYC and FUTURE R & BASS.

Space Lab artists Aja Adams & Michelle Stearn will create a live video installation, mixing archival and original footage to collaborate with the moment and musical artists’ performances. Video effects will be synchronized with musical beat to facilitate seamless audience interaction. The work will have an organic flow of footage for contemplative, meditative thought, incorporating a reflective live stream of the participants for yogis to meditate and self-reflect visually.

Joshua Cogan is an Emmy Award winning photographer and anthropologist specializing in telling stories of culture and transitions though photography and videography. His Clients include the World Health Organization, The United Nations, National Geographic, the Smithsonian Institution, Puma, New Balance, MAC AIDS fund, ESPN, The New Yorker, HBO, The Discovery Channel and many others.

The artist Carlita will perform her “Body Langauge” action art performance on a large canvas placed on the floor as she makes marks with charcoal and movement inspired by yoga. She writes “Our consciousness–our true, infinite self–experiences our reality through the physical body. As we move, energy flows within and without. “Body Language” is my attempt to capture this flow of energy. As I move, the charcoal records the poetry of my body. Listen closely, what do you hear? Watch carefully, what do you see?”

With Love DC a movement to spread love, joy, and acceptance throughout the District, making this world a better place; one smile, hug, or random act of kindness at a time. Join them in the lobby of Anthology to dance up the street to tour all the awesome happenings on H street for Art All Night.
