Subject: [LeDroitPark] Traffic Control Officers (TCOs)
Good afternoon Residents,
After observing the congestion at 6th st. and Florida Ave NW this morning around 9:30 am – 10:00 am, I contacted DDOT to find out what options were available to extend the TCOs’ tour. I found out a couple of interesting facts.
1. Their tour ends at 9:45 am.
2. And at the end of their morning tour they are supposed to check in with their supervisor to inform him/her of the state of the intersection. If the congestion is still there, they are to remain at their location until the congestion lessens and the supervisor clears them to leave.
3. This appears to be some kind of pilot study.
But, starting tomorrow morning, we are getting additional TCOs around 4th and Rhode Island and New Jersey and Florida Avenues. This is being done to help alleviate some of the traffic congestion along our area
