Small businesses are crucial to our economy. They hire our neighbors and they provide a sense of community. Today, November 25th, is Small Business Saturday across the nation and I invite you to #ShopSmall and #ShopDC here in Ward 5.
Ward 5 is home to three main street organizations, which support our small businesses, and I invite you to have a look and support their member businesses as you do your holiday shopping:
I am proud of my support of these organizations: helping to found the Rhode Island Avenue Main Street; re-constituting the North Capital Main Street; and expanding the boundaries of the H Street Main Street to extend into Ward 5 along Brandenburg Road. Whether you do your shopping today or another day, I hope you will keep D.C.’s small businesses in mind and #ShopSmall and #ShopDC.
