Hello neighbors,

MangoStreet is calling for Art-loving children to celebrate the Day of the Dead on Sunday, Nov 3, 8:30-10:30 <https://mangostreetdc.com/register/camps>

WITH MS GUEST ARTIST <https://www.instagram.com/p/BrdiACKhoJ3/>: IRENE CLOUTHIER <http://www.ireneclouthier.com/news/>
We will be learning about this whimsical & colorful tradition of honoring
our loved ones who have passed, by recreating an ofrenda/altar,
making papel cortado, and constructing mosaics. We will explore the process
of cartonería—a traditional Mexican sculpting technique—in the
making and painting of Catrinas, and delve into the work of
Guadalupe Posada, originator of the Catrina.
Children will experience the importance of honoring our past heritage, and the cycle of life, through the whimsical celebration of the Day of the Dead..
