WASHINGTON – Officers are investigating a police-involved shooting in D.C.

Officers responded to the 200 block of N Street, northwest around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

They found a man who had been shot multiple times.

While on the scene, a suspect in that shooting appeared and pulled out a weapon.

Police shot the suspect multiple times. That person was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No officers were injured.

 Suspect Arrested in Police Involved Shooting:  200 block of N Street NW

 (Washington, DC) – The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a police involved shooting that occurred in the 200 block of N Street NW. On Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at approximately 11:28 pm, officers heard the sound of a gunshot and responded to the area of New York Avenue and M Street NW. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.  They also observed an armed suspect fleeing the scene.

 Officers located the suspect in the 200 block of N Street NW. The suspect refused to comply with officer’s commands and the suspect pointed his weapon towards the officers, who fired their service weapons, striking the suspect. The suspect who has been identified as 44-year-old Michael Ashe of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Assault on a Police Officer.

 The initial victim and the suspect were both taken to area hospitals and treated for non-life threatening wounds.
