See this message from Tijuana Griffin of the 4th Street-Friendship Seventh Day Adventist Church:
On March 17, 2017, there was a row house fire a couple of homes away from the 4th Street Friendship SDA Church. Because of the fire, the church leadership thought, our church members and our neighbors could benefit from fire safety education. The church leadership contacted the Office of the Fire Marshall for Fire Safety Education. On Friday, April 28, 2017, we received confirmation that the fire department will come to the church on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Please inform our neighbors about the Fire Safety Education.

Accomplishing this mission requires vigorous enforcement of the Fire Prevention Code, dissemination of fire safety education information, collection of fire related data, inspection of buildings and structures, accurate determination of the origin and cause of all fires that occur in the District of Columbia, and the arrest of persons suspected of committing the crime of arson.
