Traffic Fatality: Unit Block of New York Avenue, Northeast
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Unit are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at approximately 2:44 am.
A white Acura TL was traveling westbound on New York Avenue, Northeast, when the driver lost control, swerved into oncoming traffic and struck a black Toyota Rav4 head-on. The impact of the crash caused the Acura to separate into two sections.
The driver of the Acura, identified as 33 year-old Patrick Kincaid, of Northwest, DC, was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
The driver and a passenger of the Toyota Rav4 were transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The case is currently under investigation by the Major Crash Investigations Unit. Anyone with information regarding this case should call 202-727-9099.
