5th District Community,
A Fifth District officer heard gun fire emanating at 1st and N Street NW. The officers who responded observed two black male subjects fleeing the area. Officers then observed one of the subject throw a weapon on First Street NW. The second subject Black Male 18-21 years of age with facial hair fled West on N Street NW. MPD officers stopped the suspect who threw the weapon. Additional Fifth District Units arrived and they located a crime scene and a second weapon (firearm). Officers canvassed the area and found no victim or evidence of a shooting as result of the suspect discharging a firearm. The suspect that was caught was charged with the crime carrying a pistol without a license.
